Evaluation
draft Serkan:
- In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
- - Cover star looks straight at the audience in the front cover and is wearing the clothes which suits the genre
- Analyse shots used- shot size, angle, composition; mise-en-scene including costume, make up, props, lighting, location.
- How does your media product represent particular social groups?-The artists I used are wearing street clothing which represents street culture-The use of colour also represents this (Red, white and black)-It represents the specific gender which is male-What race it represents (Both races white and black because my magazine respects both races magazine)
- What kind of media institution might distribute your media products and why?-BBC is going to be the main presenter of my magazine as they are more particular with grime, because of their presentation of “fire in the booth” and interviews with grime artists-BBC is also a very well-known trade mark in the UK so it would be easier to promote my magazine and get it to be popular very quick very fast. However it’s not possible as the BBC only publish magazines based on their television programmes so I’m going to mention this in my evaluation.-I’m thinking of using another popular media network like “Bauer” to help me advertise and promote my magazine, as they don’t mind advertising any magazines.
- Who would be the audience for your media product?Describe the audience in terms of demographics (age, gender, location, ethnicity, sexuality) use media kits from real magazinesTask2 create your own inform- bar/pie chartsMy answersAge/Gender-My target age is 13-18 year old teenage boys and girls. I’m aiming to get this age group to get my magazine more than anyone else as it’s based around them.Location- Location is going to be London (Hackney, Islington, Tottenham and etc.)
- How did you attract your audience?Give feedback on your magazineWrite down what feedback you got from pitch. Embed video. (Slides/emaze/prezi)Feedback you got from rough magazine. Look at comments on your blog. Add screenshot or write some notes summarising.Final feedback. 3 or 4 people. Members of audience. Get comments of final cover, contents, DPS.Annotate- what attracted/addressed them?WhatsApp group- screen shotsOr video/voiceMy answers
- The use of colours on my magazine. The three main colours of my magazine is red, black and white which has two bright colours (Red and white). This will grab the attention of my audience easily because of the brightness and the way it appeals to my specified audience which are teens.
- The cover lines on my magazine will be splashed on the front of the magazine so it’s big, bold and clear to the audience. If it appeals to them they will have a look at it or maybe even consider buying the magazine
- I will use artist names on the cover lines similar to the music genre of the magazine to draw the audience in.
- I will also use an attractive cover star who also links to the music genre. The use of clothing and actions of the cover star will help me link it to the genre
